The nature of our work in 'The Theatre', and elsewhere, is inherently collaborative. Can it be done by a single person? Ein mensch? Sure — but we don't think that's quite as fun.
We want to make the best work possible and we believe doing the best work possible means making stuff that involves as many different voices, ideas, beliefs, traditions, styles, lexicons, et cetera, et cetera.
The world we live in is not a stale and homogenous zone; the spaces we cultivate and our working methodologies won't be either.
Specifically...
we are committed to maintaining a working environment that is sensitive to the needs of all persons involved.
we will continue to do work that reflects our individual and collective experiences (e.g. queer, trans, first-generation, working-class, etc.) — we do not co-opt narratives we have no legitimate tether/claim to without the sustained input/collaboration of persons with the appropriate lived experiences.
